What are Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters?
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters are international master’s programmes jointly designed and delivered by groups of higher-education institutions. The European Commission says programmes involve at least three institutions from at least three countries and normally include study, research, traineeship or thesis work across participating institutions.
Can Kenyan students apply?
Yes. The official Erasmus+ guidance says students from all over the world are welcome. Applicants generally need a bachelor’s degree, may be in the final year of bachelor’s study provided they graduate before the master’s begins, or may qualify through an officially recognised equivalent level of learning.
What can an Erasmus Mundus scholarship cover?
Participating master’s programmes may offer full scholarships to their best-ranked applicants. Official Erasmus+ guidance says scholarships can cover participation costs and contribute toward travel, visa and living costs. When do applications open?
There is no single application deadline across Erasmus Mundus programmes. Erasmus+ says that in most cases students apply between October and January for courses starting the following academic year. Each master’s consortium publishes its own eligibility rules, documents and deadline.
In July 2026, Erasmus+ announced 37 newly selected Joint Masters that are expected to open for student applications in autumn 2026 for programmes starting in September 2027.
